I'll bet everyone is glad to see that I'm finally putting something on this site that is new! We have been in the process of changing our website for some time, it just doesn't get done very fast, so hopefully, from here on out we'll be a little more prompt with our news, pictures, and class schedule. Be sure and go to cornerquiltfabrics.com and send us your email address, we sometimes send out un-advertised sales that you don't want to miss.
Now, for the new stuff...we have officially started the Moda "Greenpiece" block of the month quilt this month. I am so sorry that I had to turn some of you down on this, but I just could not get anymore of the fabric and I sure don't want to run short for the ones that have signed up. We are offering a few other montly programs that may be of interest though! We are so excited to show off our "Monthly Minis"! These little wall hangings are only 6 inches wide and vary in length up to 19 inches so they will fit anywhere! Each one pertains to something from that particular month with your commitment of $22.50 per month, you will get everything you'll need...Fabric, borders, binding, backing, hangers, and buttons when needed. This will start in March, so come in and take a look at ours and let us know that you want to sign up.
Another new program that we think many of you will like is our "Sea of Tranquility"
Starting now, you can come in and pick up a FREE pattern for a block for the next 12 months. If you would like to do one like ours, you may want to pick up 2 fat quarters each month, which we will have ready to go, also you will need 3 1/2 yards of background fabric and we will be happy to help you out with that. Come on in and we can show you a picture of this pieced quilt, I think you will like it! If all of that is not enough to get those sewing machines fired up, we will be introducing yet another monthly program in June that will be all pieced and in traditional reds and greens.
So, have you been in the store lately? If not, we closed right after Christmas for a few days and did some major changes in the store...we love it and think you will too! New floor, cleaning, moving things around, its all good! We still have a wonderful selection of other stores in the mall, so come out this way and make it a fun day of shopping!
As far as new fabric, it's always coming in. We've recently gotten in several bolts of batiks that are pretty yummy along with the new April Cornell collection from Moda. The new fairies from Michael Miller fabrics are here along with some new backings that are pastel in color from Henry Glass. Also, some new baby fabrics that always sell fast...since everyone knows someone that is having a baby. Speaking of babies , I can't go any further without bragging about our new additions. Caroline Kay Harrell was born on Dec. 15 to proud parents John and Mandi and all are doing great. We also have Eli Joseph Schneider who was born Nov. 30 to Anthony and Sara. The family gatherings are going to be pretty exciting for all of us for the next few years!
We have not yet put together a class schedule, but let me remind all of you that our Greenpiece quilt makers will be meeting on the second Friday of each month at 10am. Also, the Redwork group is sewing on the second Tuesday morning at 10am and the second Wednesday evening at 6pm. Sue has a brand new basket schedule in the store and she is offering some great baskets that we've never seen before, there's something for the beginners on to experienced weavers so come in and check them out!
Well, this is all for now, but I promise to be back in a short while with something new to tell you about. In the meantime keep stitching and stay warm!
Piece fully,
Donna,
Oh yes one more thing. Go to our website and check out the Gallery for fun photos from the VIP party, beginner classes, and of course Caroline. Be sure to check often, you never know when you may see yourself or a quilt you have made.
